OLUP
You can now execute predictions ON-LINE using sophisticated Unscrambler® models. Not only do you get the predictions, but you
also get additional results ensuring that the predictions are correct.
The On-Line Predictor for The Unscrambler® (OLUP) is an intermediary application that allows a model created in The
Unscrambler® to be interfaced with external instrument(s). An OLUP feature called “Predict” allows a remote user to input
relevant variables and obtain an optimal predicted value.
Example: OLUP is especially useful to run on-line predictions of samples. The instrument measurements can be automatically
fed into OLUP. OLUP outputs prediction results using a predictive model initially built in The Unscrambler®
The On-Line Predictor will “package” the model in a DLL (32 bit only) or Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE, 16 and 32 bit)
protocol. Via these protocols any software can interface with OLUP whether custom built or part of existing instrumentation.
Custom Software:Custom applications written in any language (C, C++, Fortran, Visual Basic, etc) will access the DLL the On-
Line Predictor creates. Using function calls, data is fed into the OLUP and a predicted value is displayed.
Prepackaged or Proprietary Software: For this type of software, a user has to activate a small executable file that will use
DDE. From there, the user just specifies the model and enters the variables required. Results will be returned promptly.
Results may be similar to the screenshot under. Results largely depend on the instrument that you are using.
Since information about transformations on the raw data is stored within The Unscrambler® model, the same transformations
will automatically be applied to the new data in OLUP.
The results can be customized with several levels of detail. In addition to the predicted value, it is possible to view:
scores, leverages, deviations, and variances (uncertainties). Then present the results with your own software as you wish -
on screen, file, on paper, tabulated or via graphs.
