Much as a ship’s manifest is a complete listing of cargo and passengers, PC Manifest is a self populating complete list of hardware and software on a computer. PC Manifest creates a complete inventory of all the hardware, software, and system information for each computer on a Windows domain. By simply installing PC Manifest on a single domain server, administrators can easily track, report, sort, summarize, and search all the computer assets connected to a domain.
PC Manifest does not simply build a static list of assets. Instead, using Windows Management Instrumentation, it periodically inventories each computer, recording and illuminating changes in hardware or software. With zero client footprint, PC Manifest automatically records the dates and details of every software installation and hardware upgrade for each computer, with no additional effort. PC Manifest prints labels for computers identifying network name, processor(s), RAM, disk space, plus user defined fields. PC Manifest Server is installed on the server where it uses the built-in Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to gather information from the computers on the network. For Windows 2000/XP, no client software is required on the computers that are inventoried. PC Manifest silently scans the computers on the domain enumerating hardware and software assets, compiling raw data to be organized and presented by the PC Manifest Viewer.
